A man was arrested after stealing multiple vehicles from a Tulsa parking lot while impersonating a tow truck driver, according to the Tulsa Police Department (TPD).

Around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, TPD received a call concerning a stolen vehicle from a parking lot near 61st W Avenue and Charles Page Boulevard.

TPD spoke to the victim, and he said the suspect, later identified as Demarco Brown, was seen towing two vehicles from the parking lot in a pink tow truck.

After the victim's truck was towed, he called multiple tow yards but was unable to locate his vehicle. Police said the victim was able to track his cellphone, which was left inside his stolen truck, to find the vehicle.

Brown towed the vehicle to a home in north Tulsa near N Rockford Avenue and E Virgin Street.

Officers spoke to Brown who admitted to towing both vehicles off the property while holding no license to do so within Tulsa County. Brown said the other vehicle was left at another location out of belief it was stolen.

After officers received a search warrant, they found blank dealer tags, multiple falsely notarized bills of sale and scrap metal dealer receipts for vehicles on the property.

Brown was then arrested on two counts of larceny of automobile, operating a motor vehicle without required drivers license, disposing of stolen vehicle and operating a wrecker service without a license.
